8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students then continued to progress through the levels of their assigned Flashmasters. We then began reviewing how to use protractors in order to measure angles of triangles for an in class activity. Students were asked to complete this activity on page 3 & 4 of their workbooks for class on Tuesday.
Assignments: Review Homework #3 is due on Wednesday in class. Page 3 & 4 in the practice workbook are due Tuesday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students then jumped back into the text book, and today we spent the class period reviewing the steps to solving one step equations, before students were introduced to solving multi-step equations. After some teacher led instruction, students were set free to work with a partner to complete the activity on page 7 & 8 of their practice workbooks.
Assignments: Review Homework #3 is due on Friday in class. Students should be completing pages 8, 9 & 10 in the practice workbook to be due Tuesday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students were then given class time to complete a self evaluation of the work they did for the Scientific Summer project. Next, students reviewed the Elements of Design, or C.R.A.P. (Contrast, Repetition, Alignment, Proximity). After a brief conversation about what each elements means or represents, students were introduced to the next activity, that has students finding pictures or images that are good and bad examples of each element and explaining why they chose that picture to represent that element of design.
Assignments: Students can be working on the C.R.A.P. practice activity at home this evening, but it is not homework, as they will be given about 20 minutes of class time on Tuesday to complete the assignment.
