8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students spent today's class period learning about dilations of shapes within the coordinate plane. After a brief introduction to the concept, students were given class time to complete the activities on pages 45-47 of the practice workbook, to be due Friday in class.
Assignments: Review Homework #26 is due Friday in class. Pages 46-47 of the practice workbook are due Friday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Do Now. Students spent today's class period learning about and working with the Hour of Code. We went to the library and students were introduced to computer science coding and given the opportunity to play some games on the Hour of Code website to help re-enforce the concepts behind coding.
Assignments: Review Homework #26 is due Friday in class.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then transitioned back into chemistry. Students were asked to read an essay about the periodic table and to mark the text as they read with questions they come upon, key vocabulary words and important ideas about the table. Students then completed the Think, Write Pair Share worksheet we began in class on Tuesday.
