7th Grade Math:  Today in 7th grade pre-algebra, students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students continued with linear equations and chapter 8.  Today students were finding solutions to equations with two variables.  Once students found several solutions, or ordered pairs for each equation, they were able to graph the equation.  After some teacher instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the 8.2 worksheet in it entirety.

Assignments:  Students should be completing the 8.2 worksheet for class on Thursday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in 8th grade pre-algebra, students began class with making some test corrections to their chapter 5 tests.  We then transitioned back into fractals.  Today students used the knowledge they gained through the film on fractals to help them in measuring the coastline of Douglas Island.

Assignments:   Students should be spending at least 15 minutes on Study Island before Friday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students used a triple venn diagram to compare and contrast the similarities and differences of the three eco-types we studies during the Local Ecology Project (wetlands, old growth and new growth).  We then watched several iMovies from Mr. White's classroom and Mr. Campbell's classroom to end the day.  Students can expect to spend the class period on Thursday walking the trail around the school.

Assignments:   None.
