8th Grade Math: Students began class with the problem of the day before students were given choices on how to spend their math class. Students who have missing assignments were given time to work on those assignments in order to avoid having to do them over break. Students who are caught up with their work were given time to create geometric shapes via nets. The hope is that students will be able to create a few different 3-D christmas ornaments.

Assignments: Review Homework #24 is due Friday.

7th Grade Math: Today students began class with their flashmasters before jumping into a snowflake making activity. Students were introduced to rotational symmetry, and then asked to produce several different snowflakes via working models presented by Mr. Olsen in class.

Assignments: Review Homework #26 is due Friday.

Science: Today in science students utilized the information they gathered the past two days during the frog dissections and applied that knowledge and information into an activity today where they compared frog organ weight vs. the frogs total body weight, against human body weight vs. human organ weight. Once they completed their calculations, they produced a double bar graph comparing human to frog organ weight.

FOR PARENTS INFORMATION: TUESDAY AND WEDNESDAY of this week, STUDENTS DISSECTED FROGS AND WE ARE ASKING FAMILIES TO DONATE $10 IF POSSIBLE TO OFFSET THE COSTS OF ORDERING THE MATERIALS NEEDED FOR THIS ACTIVITY. If you are interested in contributing some money to our cause here in science, please make checks payable to DHMS with Aurora House Science written into the memo area of the check. THANK YOU in advance from Mr. Olsen and Mr. White, as well as our students!!

Assignments: Finish up the double bar graph if they did not finish up in class.
