7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students were introduced to a new supplemental website called Study Island.  We are going to stop handing out paper review homeworks, and students will now be expected to log into the website with their newly issued logins and passwords, and complete assignments that Mr. Olsen adds to the Olsen 7th Pre-Algebra class page.  Today students completed, or at least began, the Pre-Test assignment, which will be due by the end of the day on Friday.

Assignments:   Completing the Pre-Test on Study Island is due by the end of the day on Friday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we jumped back into chapter 2.  Today we spent time reviewing the rules associated with adding, subtracting and multiplying and dividing decimals.  Students also reviewed solving equations and the rules for signs, before the 2.7 worksheet was assigned for homework.  Students were given about 20 minutes of class time to begin the assignment.

Assignments:   Review Homework #22 is due Friday.  The 2.7 worksheet is due Thursday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students began making flashcards to begin memorizing the 33 vocab words that they will be tested on next Monday.

Assignments:  Students should be completing their flashcards if they did not complete the work in the class time provided.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
