7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before jumping back into chapter 3.  Today students continued working with equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign.  We reviewed two-step equations, and solving equations involving like terms and parentheses before applying all of those skills with variables on both sides of the equal sign.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples problems, students were assigned the 3.3 worksheet for homework and given about 20 minutes fo class time to complete the assignment.

Assignments:   The section 3.3 worksheet is due Friday morning in class.  Students can also expect a quiz on the first three section of chapter 3 on Friday morning.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, we jumped back into section two of chapter two.   Students reviewed the distributive property as a group, before Mr. Olsen handed out a distributive property worksheet for students to continue developing their skills at solving these types of problems.

Assignments:   Review Homework #16 is due Friday.   The distributive property worksheet is due in class on Friday.  Students can also expect a quiz on the first two sections of chapter 2 on Friday.

Science:  Today in science, students worked with their partner for the Bubble Gum Challenge activity.  Student groups exchanged their procedures and materials lists with another group in class today, and they began attempting to conduct a new and different experiment in class.  Students will complete the new experiments by the end of class on Friday.

Assignments:  Students should be continuing to type up and prepare their Gum Lab Write-Up forms for their upcoming final project.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
