7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before we jumped back into chapter 4. Today students continued to learn about finding the Greatest Common Factor of two or more nonzero whole numbers. Students were introduced to some key vocabulary, including relatively prime, and we practiced finding the GCF of several sets of integers. Students were then assigned the 4.2 worksheet for homework.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Next, we jumped back into chapter 2. Today we spent time reviewing the rules associated with adding, subtracting and multiplying decimals. Students practiced multiplying decimals and applying the rule for the number of digits behind the decimal point in their product. We also reviewed the rules associated with dividing decimals and practiced multiplying and dividing several examples.
Assignments: Review Homework #21 is due Wednesday.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then completed a worksheet where they defined 33 scientific words, using a dictionary if necessary. If students completed the worksheet, they were instructed to begin making flashcards to help them memorize all of the words for an upcoming quiz.
Assignments: Students should be completing the Science Vocabulary worksheet if they did not complete the work in the class time provided.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
