7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before students continued working with negative exponents. Students expressed concerns of not totally understanding the homework, so we went over each homework problem individually, in order for students to better understand the steps necessary in working with both negative and zero exponents. Students were assigned extra problems from the text book to continue practicing these concepts.
Assignments: Completing Review Homework #20 on Study Island is due by the end of the day on Friday. Problems from the text book pg. 201-202 #1-39 (odds) are due Friday in class. Students can expect a quiz on Friday as well.
8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Next, students are being asked to continue working with solving equations. We struggled as a group on the chapter 2 test, and we need to spend some more time revisiting those concepts before we jump into chapter 3. Students were then give about 20 minutes of class time to work on their Study Island assignments.
Assignments: Students have two assignments active on Study Island and both are due by the end of school on Friday.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the Do Now. Students then read about 12 pages (the first two sections of chapter 1) in our Human Biology and Health text book. Once students read the required pages, they were handed a reading guide with several questions for them to answer concerning the reading they just completed.
Assignments: Students need to be completing their Body System Reading Guide for class on Friday.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/22, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
