7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were introduced to finding the LCM (Least Common Multiple) of two or more numbers, monomials or fractions.  We reviewed the difference between factors and multiples, before students learned the two methods of finding a LCM.  Students really struggled with finding the LCM of monomials, as well as Least common denominators.  Thus, we spent todays class period reviewing the process, and doing several examples together.  Students were then assigned problems from the text book, page 190 #16-30 evens; and 40 - 52 evens, to be due Thursday in class.

Assignments:  The book work from page 190 #16-30 and 40-52 evens, are due Wednesday in class.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students continued working with properties of addition and multiplication. Today students were introduced to simplifying expressions.  Students reviewed several key vocabulary words, and we then practiced identifying the terms, coefficients, like terms and constants within an expression.

Assignments:  Review homework #24 is due Friday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued learning the basics of atoms.  Today in class students began learning about how atoms of different elements can bond together in order to form a molecule.  After some group discussion, students were handed some toothpicks, gummy bears and marshmallows and were asked to build a water molecule.  We then made other molecules with the materials they had in hand.

Assignments:  Students should be completing the Particles of Matter worksheet and the packet entitled Structure of Matter for class on Thursday.
