8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day. Students were then introduced to chapter 3 and solving two step equations. After reviewing how to simplify expressions and solve one step equations, students began solving the two step equations. After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 3.2 worksheet as homework, to be due Wednesday in class.
Assignments: Review HW #25 is due Thursday in class. The section 3.2 worksheet is due Wednesday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Students then went over the homework from last Friday, the section 3.1 worksheet on mean, median, mode and range of a data set. Students were then introduced to our next activity, the Presidential Averages Activity. Students will be finding the names of all 44 US presidents and their ages at inauguration in order to calculate the mean, median, mode and range of that data set.
Assignments: Review HW #25 is due Thursday in class. Students will be given time in class on Wednesday to complete the Presidential Average Age Activity.
Science: Students began class with the Do Now. Next, students got back into their Local Ecology Groups and we went outside to their group plots. Groups took soil temperatures, group photos and made several observations about any changes since the last time we visited our plots.
