8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and today they were adding and subtracting fractions and mixed numbers that have UNLIKE denominators.  They also continued working with fractions that include variable parts as well.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 5.3 WS as homework, to be due Thursday in class. 

Assignments:  Review HW #42 is due Friday in class.  The section 5.3 WS (odds) is due Thursday in class. 

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and were learning how to identify and measure with customary units.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 5.5 worksheet as homework, to be due Thursday in class.

Assignments:   Review HW #42 is due Thursday in class.  The section 5.5 worksheet is due Thursday in class.   

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning and reading about worms.  Students were using class time today to finish defining several key vocabulary terms associated with worms and their internal structure so they can participate in an upcoming dissection unit.  The next step has students breaking into pairs in order to identify, label and color each of the internal organs within a worm.  

Assignments:  Students should be finished defining the 23 terms assigned to them Wednesday in class.
