Parents:  Students will be taking the new standardized tests, the AMP tests, during the week of March 30th - April 3rd.  Please help your student(s) by making sure they get good nights rest throughout this coming weekend, as well as healthy dinners and breakfasts each day.  Testing will begin on Monday March 30th at 8:30 AM and continue each day of the week.  

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and today they were learning about multiplying fractions and mixed numbers.  They also continued working with fractions that include variable parts as well.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 5.4 WS as homework, to be due Thursday in class. 

Students can expect a quiz on fraction operations on Friday in class. 

Assignments:  Review HW #42 is due Friday in class.  The section 5.4 WS (odds) is due Friday in class. 

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and were learning how to identify and measure with customary units.  Students spent the class period reviewing fraction operations and practicing adding and subtracting like and unlike fractions, as well as multiplying and dividing fractions and mixed numbers.  

Students can expect a quiz on fraction operations on Friday in class. 

Assignments:   Review HW #42 is due Thursday in class.   

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began the SBA review process in order to prepare for the science SBA scheduled for next Wednesday April 1st.  Students paired up in class and began going over old SBA science test questions to work on developing test taking strategies to feel a bit more prepared for the test next week.   

Assignments:  Students should be coming into class on Monday with their diagrams of the internal structure of a worm labelled and colored.
