8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students spent today's class period by learning about tessellations.  Students continued working with the concept of tessellations and students spent the class period creating a unique tessellation of their own.  Students spent todays class period coloring their unique tessellation, before beginning a new shape template that will need to be rotated when creating the next tessellation.

Assignments:  Review HW #19 is due Friday in class.  Students should be bringing in their own colored full page tessellation to class on Friday.

Assignments:  Review HW #19 is due Friday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned into the chemistry textbook.  We had a class discussion about how reading a science textbook is different from reading a novel for pleasure.  We talked about the different tools available in a textbook that are usually not provided in a novel, such as a glossary, an index and tables and charts presenting information in different ways.  Students then worked their way through a Think, Write Pair Share activity concerning plants and chemicals.

Assignments:  None.
