8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students spent today's class period making connections between the three basic ways to transform an image within the coordinate plane.  After some teacher led instruction and several clarifying examples, students were assigned page 36 of the practice workbook, to be due Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Review Homework #22 is due Wednesday in class.  Workbook page 36 is due Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then jumped into chapter 3.  Today students continued working with the relationships between the interior and exterior of polygons.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples of working with the algebraic formula used to calculate the measure of an exterior angle, students were assigned the next project, where they are identifying different polygons by side lengths and finding the perimeter of each given shape.

Assignments:  Review Homework #22 is due Wednesday in class.  Students should be completing the identifying polygons worksheet that is due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then transitioned back into the chemistry textbook.  Students spent the class period calculating the density of a 3 musketeers and a snickers candy bar.  Students worked together to find the mass of each bar, and then they calculated the volume of each.  Next, students calculated the density of each candy bar, before performing the water test to see if each bar was more dense then water.

Assignments:  Students should be completing the "How sweet it is" density lab worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.
