8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now. We then transitioned back into section 5.4 on solving systems by graphing.  Students reviewed the methods of substitution and elimination, before we continued setting equations equal to each other and then forming two equations in slope intercept form.  Students developed two x/y tables in order to find coordinates in order to graph both lines.  Once students graphed both lines, the solution to the system of equations is the intersection point on the graph.

Assignments:  Review HW #53 is due Wednesday in class.  The review packet handed out in class on Monday is due Friday in class.  Workbook page 117 is due Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students jumped into chapter 7 and began working with rational and irrational numbers.  Students reviewed the Pythagorean Theorem before we started talking about rational and irrational numbers. Students were then given class time to begin working on the section 7.4 activities in the practice workbook, which will be due on Wednesday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #53 is due Wednesday in class.  The review packet handed out in class on Monday is due Friday in class.   The 7.4 activities in the workbook are due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Students did not meet for science today, Wednesday or Thursday due to MAPs testing in the mornings.  We are having math and language arts classes in the afternoon.
