Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students continued with chapter 8 and quadratic functions.  Students reviewed what the parent function, f(x) = x², looks like on the coordinate plane, before reviewing the different translations, in the form of g(x) = x² + c.  We then jumped into section 8.3 on graphing functions in the form of f(x) = x² + bx + c.  Students were given class time to begin working on the activities in the practice workbook, pages 255-256.  We came back together near the end of class to discuss the meaning of how to find the x and y intercepts.  Students can be completing the workbook activities for class on Thursday.

Assignments:  Students can be completing the workbook activities for section 8.3 for class on Thursday.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students were reviewed the percent formula, a = p * w.  Students then began finding percents of increases and/or decreases.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, both together and individually, students were asked to complete workbook page 132 for class on Thursday.

Assignments:   Review HW #44 is due Friday in class.   Students were assigned workbook page 132 for class on Wednesday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students then continued to learn about the cell cycle.  Students were introduced to our next activity, which will have students creating a Mitosis Flipbook.  Students will be creating several images which will eventually be cut out and put together into a mini book, that when flipped through will illustrate the cell cycle.

Assignments: Students can be continuing to work on the rough drafts of their Mitosis Flipbooks.  The rough drafts will be due on Friday at the end of class.
