Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Students then jumped right back into chapter 9.  Students reviewed the quadratic formula, practiced a few problems, and also reviewed discriminants and how to find them.  Students were then reminded of how we solved systems of linear equations, and were introduced to solving systems of non-linear equations through graphing, substitution and/or elimination.  After some teacher led instruction with a few example problems thrown in, students were assigned some homework from the textbook, page 530 #7; 12; 14; 18; 20; 23; 25; 40, to be due on Thursday in class.

Students can expect the chapter 9 test on Friday of this week.

Assignments:  Students were assigned some homework from the textbook, page 530 #7; 12; 14; 18; 20; 23; 25; 40, to be due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students jumped back into chapter 7 and today were continuing to work with triangles. Students participated in a lesson that had them classifying triangles based on given side lengths, or given angle measures.  As well as finding a third angle measure or side length when given two others.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 7.3 Practice A worksheet, to be due in class on Thursday.

Assignments:   Review Homework #53 is due Friday in class.   The section 7.3 Practice A worksheet is due on Thursday in class.

Science:  Students in the Taku House will be participating in a house wide project with a local artist in the schools.  All students will be creating their own art piece, in which will become part of a larger art piece towards the end of the project in three weeks time.

Assignments: None.
