8th Grade Math: Students began class with the problem of the day before students reviewed the properties and associated rules for each property for solving inequalities using addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Students were then introduced to section 3.6 and solving multi-step inequalities. After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were handed the 3.6 worksheet to practice their skills.

Assignments: Review HW #20 is due on Wednesday. Finish the 3.6 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided (evens only).

7th Grade Math: Today students began class with jumping back into our Hemlock Cone Activity. In this activity, students went outside and collected at least ten hemlock cones. They then weighed each individual cone and created a data set that in turn they found the mean, median, mode and range of. They then graphed their weights and produced a poster to display their results.

Assignments: Review Homework #21 is due Wednesday. Finish up with their hemlock cone poster activity if they did not finish in the class time provided.

Science: Today in science students were introduced to the skeletal system. We began with a class wide discussion on the five major functions of the skeletal system and continued the discussion on the difference between weight bearing and non-weight bearing activities. We ended class talking about the four major joints associated with the skeletal system.

Assignments: None.
