8th Grade Math: Students began class with the problem of the day before we graded the section 3.1 worksheet as a class. Next, section 3.2 was introduced to the class. This section deals with introducing the distributive property into solving equations. After some serious teacher led instruction, students practiced many different example problems. Friday we will work on the worksheet.
Assignments: Review Homework #15 is due first thing Friday.
7th Grade Math: Today students began class with their flashmasters. We then transitioned into section 3.4 on box and whisker plots. We spent the majority of the hour going over the new vocabulary words as well as how to build and interpet the box and whisker plots themselves. Tomorrow we will work on the worksheet together.
Assignments: Review Homework #16 is due on Friday.
Science: Students began class with a closer look at the different types of blood vessels within the body. Students were handed a worksheet to read over and pick out certain pieces of information to answer questions on the back side of the worksheet. We then transitioned into a lab activity where we defined the terms pulse and heart rate. Students then have to follow the procedures on the lab worksheet and take their pulse after several different scenarios.
Assignments: The lab Heart Beat, Health Beat worksheet and associated bar graph is due tomorrow in class.
