8th Grade Math: Students began class with the problem of the day before transitioning back into our our textbook and we introduced chapter 3. Today was all about solving two-step equations. Mr. Olsen reminded students that all of the rules for integers that we have learned in chapters 1 & 2 are still in play here in chapter 3. After lots of instruction and examples, Mr. Olsen sent students on their way with five problems to solve for tomorrows class.
Assignments: 1. Review Homework #14 is due first thing Wednesday.
7th Grade Math: Today students began class with their flashmasters. We then transitioned into section 3.3 in the text book on stem-and-leaf plots. Today we introduced the subject to the students and did a few practice problems. Not having enough time at the end of class to hand out a worksheet, students simply practiced examples provided by Mr. Olsen and tomorrow we will do the 3.3 worksheet.
Assignments: Review Homework #15 is due on Wednesday.
Science: Students were given another work day to continue researching their assigned illness or disease. Today was the final in class work day and tomorrow students are expected to hand in their final drafts of the Wanted Posters.
Assignments: Mr. Olsen encouraged all students to continue working on their posters at home this evening, as the posters are due on Wednesday at the end of class.
