8th Grade Math: Today in
math students began class with the problem of the day. Next, we
transitioned back into chapter 2 and section 7 on solving equations involving decimal operations. Mr. Olsen led students through several example problems, and reminded students of continuing to use the rules associated with adding and subtracting, and multiplying and dividing integers. Students were then asked to complete the 2.7 worksheet in their classroom workbook, odds only for Tuesday.
Assignments: Students should be completing the 2.7 worksheet, odds only for Tuesday, if they did not complete the assignment in the class time provided. Review Homework #17 is due on Wednesday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students
began class by using their flashmasters. We then transitioned into
chapter 2 and continued working with the metric system. We reviewed the
basic units of measurement for capacity, length and mass. After
practicing on several example problems, Mr. Olsen put up three exit problems, where students had to complete all three problems and have Mr. Olsen check them in order to leave class.
Assignments: None.
Science:
Today in science, students celebrated the end of our Salmon Unit, with sharing what they learned throughout the project as well as sharing the smoked salmon they prepared throughout the project.
Assignments: Students can be wrapping up their portion of their group project.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/31,
the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will
no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit
for the work they do, when it is due.
