8th Grade Math: Today in
math students began class with the problem of the day. Next, students
continued working in their groups on the poster project.
Assignments:
Review Homework #19 is due Wednesday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students
began class by using their flashmasters. Next, students jumped back
into
chapter 3 and continued the conversation on bar and line graphs. After Mr. Olsen led students through a few example problems, students were assigned the 3.2 worksheet and given 45 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.
Assignments: Students should be completing the 3.2 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided. Review Homework #19 is due Wednesday.
Science:
Today in science, students continued talking about the importance of
learning vocabulary. As we transition into the chemistry unit, it is
important to introduce the students to the new vocabulary they will
encounter, and we are working on some scientific root words, including
prefixes and suffixes, that the students will come across throughout the
unit. Today students continued learning their assigned vocabulary
words through a review activity that Mr. Olsen has put together.
Wednesday will be a test on these vocab words.
Assignments: Students
should be reviewing their flashcards for the assigned vocabulary words.
FYI: Parents! Starting on Monday (10/31,
the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will
no longer accept late work from our students. Students will get credit
for the work they do, when it is due.
