7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day. Next, students jumped back into chapter 10.  Today students were introduced (or reviewed!) how to find the circumference and area of circles.  Students learned about the formulas for finding the circumference, diameter, and radius of a given circle, as well as how to calculate the area of a circle.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the 10.4 worksheet for homework, to be due Thursday in class.

Assignments:  Study Island Review Homework #22 is due by the end of the day on Friday. The section 10.4 worksheet is due Thursday in class.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 4.  Students began class reviewing the two methods for finding a LCM, before students were introduced to multiplying and dividing powers.  Students completed a table helping them understand the rule for multiplying or dividing powers with the same base, before we ran out of class time.

Assignments:  Review homework #17 will be due on Friday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students got back into their roller coaster groups and began calculating the average speed of a rolling marble down their roller coaster track. Students began class by estimating their total length of track on their coasters, before using a piece of string to accurately measure the distance of four separate points along the track length in order to time a marble as it hits each point along the track.

Assignments:  None.
