8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day. Students then transitioned back into chapter 2. Today in class students reviewed solving equations with variables and writing equations based on verbal sentences (section 2.4). We then transitioned into solving equations using inverse (opposite) operations. Students were introduced to solving equations using addition and subtraction today. After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 2.5 worksheet as homework, to be due Thursday 11/13 (the next time our class will meet).
Assignments: The homework, the section 2.5 worksheet, is due Thursday 11/13 in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters. Students were then introduced to chapter 2 on decimal operations. Today students reviewed the rules associated with multiplying decimals, before we reviewed the rules of division and dividing decimal numbers. After some teacher led instruction and several examples where we were solving division problems involving decimals together, students were assigned the section 2.4 worksheet to be due Thursday 11/13 in class.
