Monday April 6, 2015

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and we quickly reviewed how to add, subtract and multiply fractions and mixed numbers, before they were introduced to dividing fractions and mixed numbers.  Students defined the key vocabulary word, reciprocal, before practicing several examples. They also continued working with fractions that include variable parts as well.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were assigned the section 5.5 WS (odds) as homework, to be due Tuesday in class. 

Assignments:  Review HW #43 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 5.5 WS (odds) is due Tuesday in class. 

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 5 and were learning how to convert between customary units.  Students spent the class period reviewing fraction operations before we practiced several examples of converting between common customary units.  After some teacher led instruction, students were assigned the 5.6 practice A worksheet, to be due Tuesday in class. 

Assignments:   Review HW #43 is due Wednesday in class.  The section 5.6 practice A WS is due Tuesday in class.  

Science: Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students completed the reconstruction of the skeletal bones of an organism they found in the dissection of an owl pellet.     

Assignments:  None.
