8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Some students then continued to progress through the levels of their assigned Flashmasters, while others, who have tested out of Flashmasters began class with the POD.  Students then continued working with solving equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign.  Today students were continuing to work with solving equations, and we focused on solving multi-step equations together in class.  Students were assigned a worksheet involving multi-step equations and given about 25 minutes of class time to start working on it.  Any problems not completed in class is considered homework (section 1.3 Practice A), to be due Friday in class.  Students can expect a quiz on solving one, two and multi-step equations on Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #12 is due Friday in class.  The worksheet involving multi-step equations is homework (section 1.3 Practice A), and is due Friday in class.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the Do Now.  Students then were introduced to chapter 2 and Transformations.  We reviewed the coordinate plane and how to use it, and went over several key vocabulary words.  Today students continued working with translations and transformations when working with tessellations.  After some teacher led instruction, and a few activities in class, students were assigned the section 2.2 Practice B worksheet, to be due Friday in class.

Assignments:  Review HW #12 is due Friday in class.  The section 2.2 Practice B worksheet is due Friday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Students were then introduced to the Dry Ice Investigation Poster Presentation project and we reviewed how each group can meet their teacher's expectations.  Students were then given the remaining time in class to begin producing a detailed lab report, detailing the information gained through the activities conducted in class throughout the week.

Assignments:  Students can be working on their final detailed lab report.  Each student must complete their own lab report before each group can begin typing up the information in order to produce a poster product to display their group's results and conclusions.  The final poster will be due on Thursday October 15th.
