Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students graded their homework from Monday. We then continued working with the Distributive Property and solving multi-step equations. We answered several questions during class, thus, students were assigned some problems from the text book to continue practicing these skills.
Assignments: The problems from the text book, page 16-17 #10, 14-16, 18-34 Evens, and 35-37 are due Wednesday in class.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. We then graded our homework, workbook pages 8 & 9 before we continued learning the rules for adding integers with the same and different signs (positive and negative). After some teacher led instruction, and teaching students a song to help them remember the rules for adding and subtracting integers, students were assigned page 10 from the practice workbook as well as practice worksheet 1.2 Practice A (odds only) for class on Wednesday.
Assignments: Review Homework #3 is due Wednesday in class. Students were asked to complete page 10 in their practice workbooks and the odds on the section 1.2 Practice A worksheet for class on Wednesday.
Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now. Students then watched the end of the film that we started on Monday with Ms. V's social studies class (ie, we blocked our science and social studies classes this afternoon for a second day) entitled the Genographic Project. Students filled in a note-taking guide as we watched the film. Once the film ended, students got back in some groups they were in last Friday in SS, and completed some posters that were connecting ideas from some articles they had read previously and the film we just watched.
Assignments: Final Scientific Summer projects were due Friday in class!
