Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems, before students jumped into chapter 5.  Students reviewed solving systems of linear equations through graphing as well as substitution.  We then began solving systems using the elimination method.  After some teacher led instruction, and several example problems, students were assigned some homework from the text book.  Page 251 #1; 2; 3-17 odds; 22; 23; 25, to be due Thursday in class.

Assignments:  Students were assigned work from the textbook, Page 251 #1; 2; 3-17 odds; 22; 23; 25, to be due Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Students began class with a Do Now and several Flashmaster activities, before students transitioned back into chapter 3. Next, we reviewed our knowledge of identifying terms, like terms, coefficients, and constants.  Next, we continued our conversation about solving equations using addition and subtraction.  After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were handed a worksheet where they were solving addition equations by using subtraction.

Assignments: Review Homework #27 is due on Monday (December 11th) in class. Students were assigned practice worksheet (section 7.2) on solving addition equations, to be due on Thursday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were paired up and assigned one of six simple machines, and given class time to research the machine and answer several questions in order to put together a poster of the research they conducted. Thursday, students will be putting the research into a poster to display the information they found concerning their assigned simple machine.

Assignments:  None.
