Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a warm up problem.  Next, students jumped right back into chapter 4. Next, students reviewed how to identifying and writing linear functions that are parallel or perpendicular.  Students were then introduced to scatter plots and lines of fit.  After some brief teacher led instruction on what a scatter plot is and how a line of fit comes into play, students were assigned some homework from the practice workbook, pages 111-112, to be due on Thursday in class.

Assignments: Students were then assigned some homework from the practice workbook, pages 111-112, to be due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math, students began class with the Do Now, and then working on their Flashmaster activities or the Problem of the Day.  Next, students were introduced to chapter 2 and rational numbers.  Students were broken into pairs and they played a flashcard game, where each student flipped a card (either card could be a fraction or a decimal) and the students needed to determine which card was larger.

Assignments:  Review Homework #19 is due on Friday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students were given a block period to continue working on the "A Day in the Life" house project.  Students were assigned a partner from the opposite homeroom (Sheufelt/Olsen) and also assigned a country from around the world.  These assigned student groups, will be researching and putting together a poster product (among other final products) of what life is like for a 12/13 year old living in their assigned country.  Today, groups were finalizing their country research, typing up their notes, and finding images to represent the topics they chose for their poster product.

The Taku House will be having an Open House event next Tuesday afternoon, November 20th. Parents and families are invited to come and sample ethnic foods and learn from our students what life may be like for children from around the world!

Assignments:  This "A Day in the Life" project is due at the end of the day on Monday November 19th.
