Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students continued with chapter 8 and quadratic functions.  We then jumped back into chapter 8 and students were reviewing how to factor a given expression, as well as reviewing slope intercept form.  Students then reviewed quadratic functions in intercept form, f(x) = a(x - p)(x - q) and how to find zeros of a quadratic function after factoring it.  Next, students were introduced to modeling data and determining which type of function works best. After some teacher led instruction, students were assigned and given some class time to complete the activities in the practice workbook.  Workbook pages 273 & 274 will be due on Thursday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students took the chapter 6 test.

Assignments:   Review Homework #47 is due Friday in class.  Students were handed a perimeter and area worksheet to complete for class on Thursday.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now. Students then took the chapter 2 test on photosynthesis, respiration, cell division and cancer.  

Assignments: Students should be completing a Mitosis crossword puzzle for class on Thursday.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students continued with chapter 8 and quadratic functions.  We then jumped back into chapter 8 and students were reviewing how to factor a given expression, as well as reviewing slope intercept form.  Students were then introduced to quadratic functions in intercept form, f(x) = a(x - p)(x - q) and how to find zeros of a quadratic function after factoring it.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some problems from the text book, page 455 #10; 24; 27; 29; 52; 54; 58; 63.  These problems will be due on Wednesday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students reviewed the simple interest formula.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were handed a chapter 6 review activity and given class time to prepare for the chapter 6 test on Wednesday morning. 

Assignments:   Review Homework #46 is due Wednesday in class.  The chapter 6 test is scheduled for Wednesday morning.  

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now. Students were then given some class time to continue working on the chapter 2 chapter review activity at the end of the chapter to help them to prepare for the chapter 2 TEST scheduled for Wednesday of this week.  Students were also busy creating a notecard that they will be able to use on the test.  

Assignments: The chapter 2 test on photosynthesis, respiration, cell division and cancer is scheduled for Wednesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  We then transitioned back into the textbook and students completed the section 2.4 worksheet on Cancer in class.  Students were then given some class time to begin working on the chapter 2 chapter review activity at the end of the chapter to help them to prepare for the chapter 2 TEST scheduled for Wednesday of this week.

Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students continued with chapter 8 and quadratic functions.  Students   We then jumped back into section 8.3 on functions in the form of f(x) = x² + bx + c.  Students spent class time familiarizing themselves with finding the axis of symmetry and the vertex of a given function.  Next, students were determining characteristics and comparing transformations of the form f(x) = a(x - h)² + k to the parent function of f(x) = x².   After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some problems from the text book, page 446 # 26, 31-34, 36, 38, 39, 43, 52, 57, 60.  These problems will be due on Monday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  We then transitioned back into the textbook and students were reading to learn about cancer and its connection to the cell cycle.  Students defined several key vocabulary terms before we read section 2.4 in the Cells and Heredity Textbook.

 f(x) = x².   After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some problems from the text book, page 446 #5-25 odds.  These problems will be due on Thursday in class.

Next, students were calculating discounts and markups.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were given class time to work on and complete problems from the textbook for section 6.6, #1, 2, 4-20, 22-25 to be due Thursday in class.

Assignments:   Review HW #45 is due Wednesday in class.   Workbook pages 132-136 are due Wednesday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  We then transitioned back into our Mitosis flipbook activity.  Students spent the class period finalizing the final drafts of their Mitosis Flipbooks.

Assignments: Students should have turned in the final product for the Mitosis Flipbook project.
