Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students continued with chapter 8 and quadratic functions.  Students   We then jumped back into section 8.3 on functions in the form of f(x) = x² + bx + c.  Students spent class time familiarizing themselves with finding the axis of symmetry and the vertex of a given function.  Next, students were determining characteristics and comparing transformations of the form f(x) = a(x - h)² + k to the parent function of f(x) = x².   After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some problems from the text book, page 446 # 26, 31-34, 36, 38, 39, 43, 52, 57, 60.  These problems will be due on Monday in class.

Assignments:  Students were assigned some problems from the text book, page 446 # 26, 31-34, 36, 38, 39, 43, 52, 57, 60.  These problems will be due on Monday in class.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmaster activities. Next, students were introduced to the simple interest formula.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the activities in the practice workbook for section 6.7, pages 137-140, to be due Monday in class.

Assignments:    Workbook pages 137-140 are due Monday in class.

Science:  Students began class with the Do Now.  We then transitioned back into the textbook and students were reading to learn about cancer and its connection to the cell cycle.  Students defined several key vocabulary terms before we read section 2.4 in the Cells and Heredity Textbook.

Assignments: None.
