Algebra I: Today in math students began class with a Do Now and a set of warm up problems.  Next, students continued with chapter 8 and quadratic functions.  Students   We then jumped back into section 8.3 on functions in the form of f(x) = x² + bx + c.  Students spent class time familiarizing themselves with finding the axis of symmetry and the vertex of a given function.  Next, students were determining whether a given function was even, odd or neither, as well as comparing transformations of the form f(x) = a(x - h)² to the parent function of
f(x) = x².   After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned some problems from the text book, page 446 #5-25 odds.  These problems will be due on Thursday in class.

Assignments:  Students were assigned some problems from the text book, page 446 #5-25 odds.  These problems will be due on Thursday in class.
