8th Grade Math: Today in math students continued working on their "dream house." Students were introduced to their next project called the Isometric Dream House Project. Students will be responsible for designing, sketching, drawing and polishing their final products over the course of this week.

Assignments: Review Homework #20 is due Wednesday.

7th Grade Math: Today in math students had a guest visitor from the US Fish and Wildlife Service in to talk with them about the different types of nesting birds that surround our school, and which birds to target for making out birdhouses in the coming weeks. After a brief introduction, students went on a hike into the meadows surrounding our school and listened to the different bird species in the area as well as ideas about where to place our birdhouses once we are done.

Assignments: Review Homework #21 is due Wednesday.

Science: Today in science, students were given a final work day in class to finalize their alternative energy papers. We spent the hour in the computer lab to give students to opportunity to print any papers or visuals needed to meet Mr. Olsen's expectations for this assignment. The papers were handed in at the end of the hour.

Assignments: Students should have handed in their alternative energy papers at the end of class today. If they did not finish, it is late and must be turned at as soon as possible.

FYI: Tomorrow, Tuesday May 3rd, the Aurora house students will be going on one of two field trips. 60 students have been selected to attend the Hecla Greens Creek Mine field trip to Admiralty Island. The rest of the house will be attending a field trip to the Eagle Beach/Eagle River area for the day. Parents, please be sure that all students are prepared for their activities over the course of the day: ie, rain coats, boots or other proper foot ware, warm clothes and please be sure to provide your son or daughter a lunch.
