8th Grade Math: Today was another working day in math. Students are progressing through the Isometric Dream House assignment, and by the end of class today, students were completing the calculations for finding the surface area and volume of their structures.
Assignments: Review Homework #21 is due Friday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students continued working on their birdhouse designs. Mr. White and Mr. Olsen talked with the students about the dimensions required for the different nesting birds around the school, and gave students a net of a birdhouse and asked students to fill in the proper measurements on the net we handed them. Next, students were asked to design their own blueprint of their birdhouse and by the end of class on Friday students will have built a birdhouse out of construction paper using the blueprints and measurements they put together at the beginning of class.
Assignments: Review Homework #22 is due Friday. Students were assigned to complete their "net" or blueprint for class on Friday.
Science: Today in science, students spent the first ten minutes of class journaling about what they already know about global warming. We then jumped back into "An Inconvenient Truth" and will finish up the film on Monday of next week. On Friday, students will be going outside during science class and contributing to cleaning up our school environment by collecting garbage around the school grounds.
Assignments: None.
