8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day before we moved back into adding integers. Mr. Olsen began class by reviewing the important rules concerning similar and different signs when adding integers, and provided students with several examples to demonstrate their new found knowledge. Students were then handed the 1.5 worksheet and given 30 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.
Assignments: Complete the 1.5 worksheet for Friday if they did not finish in the class time provided. Review Homework #5 is due on Friday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class about 35 minutes late due to school pictures. But once we got going, Mr. Olsen went back into section 1.5, more specifically on the distance formula. Mr. Olsen led students through several examples and moved around the room as students solved the equations.
Assignments: Review Homework #5 is due on Friday.
Science: Today in science students participated in a group lab where students learned about systematic observations, variables within an experiment, and predictions. Students were handed a cup with dish soap in it, and also given two cups of water, one hot and one cold. Students then added some dry ice to the soap cup and proceeded to systematically add drops of cold and hot water and observed the reactions during the experiment.
Assignments: None.
