8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, we jumped back into chapter 7.  Today students were finding mark ups, discounts, sales tax and tips.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned problems from page 360 #8-22 (evens) and given 20 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.

Assignments:    Review Homework #16 is due Friday.  Students should be completing the problems from page 360 #8-22 (evens) if they did not finish in the class time provided.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class by using their flashmasters.  Next, students took some time to learn about negative and zero exponents.  Mr. Olsen led students through several rules and examples, before moving on to introducing absolute value and adding integers.

Assignments:  Review Homework #16 is due Friday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began learning about the sun.  Students read an article and completed several questions related to the article on the sun, before we moved on to planetary bingo!

Assignments:     Students should be completing the sun worksheet if they did not complete the assignment in the class time provided.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
