8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students began reviewing for the SBA tests.  Today's activity had students reviewing area and perimeter of rectangles and squares.  Students did a few review problems, before heading out into the parking lot and calculating the area of a parking space line in order to determine how much paint would be needed to paint one row of parking spaces.

Assignments:    Review Homework #16 is due Friday.  Students should be completing the area and perimeter worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class by using their flashmasters.  Next, students jumped back into adding integers.  After some review of the rules associated with the same signs, different signs, and opposites, students practiced a few example problems.  Students were then assigned the 6.2 worksheet and given 25 minutes of class time to complete the assignment.

Assignments:  Review Homework #16 is due Friday.  Students should be completing the 6.2 worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students began comparing the diameters of the planets to the diameter of the sun.  Students were handed a worksheet to do the calculations on and given a website to go to in the computer lab, in order to find the diameter comparisons.

Assignments:     Students should be completing the planet diameter worksheet if they did not complete the assignment in the class time provided.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
