8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the POD.  We then transitioned back into chapter 10 and continued working with polygons and calculating area and perimeter.  Today we were working with parallelograms and trapezoids.  After some instruction on using the formulas, Mr. Olsen led students through several examples, before assigning students 4 homework problems from pg. 524; #12, 14,16,18.

Assignments:     Review homework #18 is due on Wednesday.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math, students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we transitioned back into chapter 6, and began reviewing the rules associated with integers.  After some basic review, students were introduced to rational numbers.  Mr. Olsen led students through several example problems before asking students to complete one problem as an exit ticket out of the classroom.

Assignments:  Review homework #18 is due on Wednesday.

Science:  Today in science, students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were given class time to work with their partners and continue their research on their assigned planet.

Assignments:     Students should be continuing to research their assigned planet.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
