8th Grade Math:  Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the POD.  We then transitioned back into chapter 10 and continued working with parallelograms and trapezoids and circles.  We graded the work students completed Wednesday in class, and moved into surface area of prisms.  Students were introduced to nets and how to use them when breaking down a rectangular prism in order to calculate the surface area.

Assignments:     Review homework #19 is due on Friday.

7th Grade Math:  Today in math, students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, we transitioned back into chapter 6, and began reviewing the rules associated with integers.  Next, we graded the section 6.7 worksheet on the distributive property.  Students were then introduced to coordinate planes and the different quadrants.

FYI:  Parents!  Starting on Monday (10/31, the first day of the second quarter), teachers in the Aurora house will no longer accept late work from our students.  Students will get credit for the work they do, when it is due.
