7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students reviewed adding and subtracting like and unlike fractions, before students began multiplying fractions.  Students were introduced to the rule of multiplying numerators and denominators, and then simplifying the end fraction.  Next, students learned about a process called cross canceling, a process to help students simplify the fractions before actually multiplying them.  By cross canceling first, the end answer is already simplified!  Students were then introduced to Study Island.  Review homework assignments will now be done on the computer, on the Study Island website.

Assignments:  Review Homework #4 is due by Friday in class on the Study Island website.  The section 5.4 worksheet is due Thursday in class.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Today students began the review process for the upcoming chapter 2 test.  The chapter 2 test will be Thursday in class.

Assignments:  Students should be studying and reviewing chapter 2 for the test on Thursday.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students continued working with and learning about the periodic table.  Today students continued watching a film entitled "Hunting the Elements" to help them begin to associate how the world incorporates the periodic table of the elements into everyday life.  Students filled out a Video Note-taking Guide while watching the film, and students are expected to complete a reflection as homework tonight.

Assignments:  Students should be completing the Elemental scavenger hunt by Friday of this week.
