Assignments: Review Homework #11 is due Wednesday.
8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the problem of the day. Next, students jumped back into chapter 1, and today students were introduced to the coordinate grid. Students identified key vocabulary, including the x and y axis's, the origin, and quadrants, and they also learned how to identify points and plot points on a coordinate grid. After some teacher led review and instruction with several examples problems of plotting and identifying points, students were assigned the 1.8 worksheet for homework, and given about 15 minutes of class time to work on it.
Science: Today in science, students reviewed how to identify dependent and independent variables within experiments. Students were then introduced to the Bubble Gum Challenge Activity. Students chose a partner to work with over the next few weeks, and they began brain storming ideas of testable questions, and what they want to experiment with based on the topic of "which brand of gum is best".
