7th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day, before continuing to  work with chapter 2.  Next, we graded our homework that was due today before jumping into section 2.6 on solving equations with division or multiplication.  After some teacher led review and instruction with several example problems of solving equations using the division and multiplication properties of equality, students practiced a few examples on their own.

Assignments:   Review Homework #11 is due Wednesday.

8th Grade Math:  Today in math students began class with the problem of the day.  Next, students jumped back into chapter 1, and today students were introduced to the coordinate grid.  Students identified key vocabulary, including the x and y axis's, the origin, and quadrants, and they also learned how to identify points and plot points on a coordinate grid.
After some teacher led review and instruction with several examples problems of plotting and identifying points, students were assigned the 1.8 worksheet for homework, and given about 15 minutes of class time to work on it.

Assignments:   Review Homework #11 is due Wednesday.   The section 1.8 worksheet is due on Wednesday in class.

Science:  Today in science, students reviewed how to identify dependent and independent variables within experiments.  Students were then introduced to the Bubble Gum Challenge Activity.  Students chose a partner to work with over the next few weeks, and they began brain storming ideas of testable questions, and what they want to experiment with based on the topic of "which brand of gum is best".

Assignments:  None.
