8th Grade Math: Today in math, students began class with the problem of the day. Next, students jumped back into chapter 1, and today we continued learning about subtracting integers. Before continuing with the notes on subtracting integers, Mr. Olsen led students through some notes on the rules associated with adding integers with the same signs, and different signs. Students were then given about 20 minutes of class time to begin working on the 1.6 worksheet that was assigned for homework.
Science: Today in science, students began class with the do now, before we introduced the actual steps of the Scientific Method. Students went through each step of the s.m. and took notes in their science notebooks on the proper layout of a scientific investigation. Students then developed a testable questions based on one of three situations presented by Mr. Olsen and then, as a group, designed a step by step procedure list on how they would answer their testable question. Next, students were handed a Report form from a fellow student from Monday's class, and students are to evaluate the Report Form they were handed.
Assignments: Students should be coming into class with a completed Evaluation Form of a Report Form given to them from yesterday activity.
