7th Grade Math: Today in pre-algebra, students began class with the Problem of the Day. Next, students jumped back into solving for the surface area of pyramids and cones. Students practiced finding the slant heights of both pyramids and cones by using the Pythagorean Theorem in order to find the missing side length of a right triangle. Next, students were introduced to the formulas for finding the surface area of pyramids and cones. After some teacher led instruction and several examples, students were given about 20 minutes of class time to get started on the 10.6 worksheet.
