Monday February 24, 2014

7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day. Next, students were given class time to work on their fraction finding missions.  Students also spent some class time reviewing their fraction, decimal and percent equivalents.  Students have a test on the f, d, and percents on Friday of this week. The fraction finding mission is also due on Friday of this week.     
   
Assignments:  Study Island Review Homework #12 is due by the end of the day on Wednesday.     

* Students were also introduced to a month long project, The Fraction Finding Mission.  This is the final week for this project.  It is due on Friday morning. *   

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students practiced solving equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign.    

Assignments:  Review homework #9 is due Wednesday in class.     

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students participated in a Speed Challenge Lab.  Students worked in groups of four, and timed each other performing various motions over a set distance.  Students should be coming to class on Tuesday with their speed calculations completed on the front side of their worksheet.   

Assignments:  The speed calculation worksheet is due Friday in class.
