7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day.  Next, students jumped back into learning about ratios and unit rates (chapter 6 section 1).  Students were reminded that ratios are a comparison of two items, and we practiced finding and displaying ratios.  Students were then introduced to finding equivalent ratios as well as calculating unit rates.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned the section 6.1 worksheet as homework.

Assignments:  Review Homework #8 is due by Wednesday in class on the Study Island website.  The section 6.1 WS is due Wednesday in class.  Students were also introduced to a month long project last week, The Fraction Finding Mission.  Students can be continuing to work on this project on their down time throughout the month.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with a problem of the day.  We then continued reviewed solving equations using the distributive property.  After some teacher led instruction and several example problems, students were assigned five problems out of the text book, page 127 #12, 14, 16, 18, 19.  These problems will be due on Wednesday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students were introduced to valence electrons, and how to read the periodic table in order to determine how many electron shells or orbitals an element may have, as well as how many valence electrons an element may have.  Students were handed an Atomic Basics worksheet, and were asked to come into class on Wednesday with the front side completed.

Assignments:  Students should be coming into class on Wednesday with the front side of the Atomic Basics worksheet completed.
