7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day. Next, students jumped back into section 6.4 on identifying similar and congruent figures.  We reviewed the definitions of similar and congruent, and how they apply within homework problems.  Students were then introduced to finding unknown side lengths of similar figures.  Students were reminded of the cross products property we learned earlier in the chapter, before a bit of teacher led instruction.  After a few example problems, students were assigned some problems from their at home text books.

Assignments:  Review Homework #11 is due by Thursday in class on the Study Island website.  The problems on page 295 #1-4 and 6-9 are due Thursday in class.

Students were also introduced to a month long project, The Fraction Finding Mission.  Students can be continuing to work on this project on their down time throughout the month.

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students practiced solving equations with variables on both sides of the equal sign.  Students were then introduced to solving equations with no solution as well as equations that have all numbers as solutions.  After some teacher led instruction, and several example problems, students were assigned the section 3.3 worksheet, #1-15 odds (front side only).

Assignments:  Review homework #8 is due Friday in class.  The section 3.3 worksheet #1-15 odds (front side only) is due Thursday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students participated in a think, write, pair share activity, designed to introduce the next unit on physics.  Students answered some questions on the front side of the worksheet, shared their thoughts with a classmate and then read an article before answering some questions and again sharing their thoughts with the same classmate.

Assignments:  None.
