7th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with the Problem of the Day. Next, students were given about 15 minutes of class time to review their fractions, decimals and percent equivalents in preparation for the test on Friday.  Students were then introduced to section 6.7 on probability.  We didn't have too much class time to dig into the entire section, so after a bit of teacher led instruction, and a few example problems, students were assigned some problems from the text book, p. 808 #25-32, to be due Friday in class.

Assignments:  Study Island Review Homework #13 is due by the end of the day on Friday.  The problems from p.808 in the text book, #25-32 are due Friday in class.

*  This is the final evening for students to work on the Fraction Finding Mission projects.  They are due on Friday morning (2/28/2014). *

8th Grade Math: Today in math students began class with their flashmasters.  Next, students were introduced to solving inequalities using addition and/or subtraction.  Students spent some time reviewing the rules of inequalities, before we practiced several examples together in class.  Students were then assigned the section 3.4 worksheet and asked to complete the odds for class on Friday.

Assignments:  The section 3.4 worksheet (odds only) is due Friday in class.

Science: Today in science students began class with the Do Now.  Next, students read section three, Acceleration as a class today.  Students learned how to calculate acceleration, as well as average acceleration, and how to define acceleration.  Students were assigned six acceleration word problems to practice, and they will be due Friday in class.

Assignments:  The six acceleration problems assigned in class will be due Friday.
