8th Grade Math: Students began class with the problem of the day before students jumped back into chapter 4 and today we learned about the rules of exponents. We focused on multiplying and dividing powers, and more specifically, on multiplying exponents.
Assignments: Review Homework #1 is due Thursday.
7th Grade Math: Today students began class with their flashmasters before jumping back into chapter 4. Today we began section 4.7 and converting fractions and mixed numbers into decimals. We spent the first few minutes of class reviewing the rules for converting fractions and mixed numbers into decimals, before correcting the 4.7 worksheet as a class. We then moved into the chapter review, as the students chapter 4 test will be this Thursday (or possibly Friday!).
Assignments: Review Homework #1 is due Thursday.
Science: Today in science students were introduced to the concept of photosynthesis. We began class with a group discussion about plants and whether they eat or not. Students then did some text book readings, and answered some questions concerning the process of converting the raw materials plants need to produce glucose, a plants food.
Assignments: Complete the photosynthesis worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.
