8th Grade Math: Students began class with the problem of the day before students jumped back into chapter 4 and today we learned about the rules of exponents. We reviewed multiplying and dividing powers, and introduced the rules for zero and negative exponents. Again, Mr. Olsen explained the concepts and led students through several example problems. We graded the work students completed yesterday, and then proceeded to spend the rest of the hour practicing the even problems from the same worksheet.

Assignments: Review HW #2 is due Wednesday. Complete the 4.6 worksheet (evens only) for Wednesday. The chapter 4 test will be this FRIDAY!

7th Grade Math: Today students began class by making corrections to their chapter 4 tests.

Assignments: Review HW #2 is due Wednesday.

Science: Today in science students were introduced to the concept of cell division. We began with a class discussion about the three main phases of cell division, the interphase, the mitosis phase, and cytokinesis phase. Within mitosis, there are four more stages, and we will learn more about those tomorrow.

Assignments: Complete the cell division worksheet if they did not finish in the class time provided.
