8th Grade Math: Today in math, students were introduced to the next project which has students working in groups of four and constructing and calculating the surface area and volume of the rectangular prisms they construct.
Assignments: Review Homework #18 is due on Wednesday.
7th Grade Math: Today in math students were introduced to cylinders and the process of calculating the surface area of a cylinder through a net of a cylinder. After Mr. Olsen introduced the formula for finding the surface area of any cylinder, students were handed a net of a cylinder and asked to calculate the surface area by finding the area of the bases, and adding it to the circumference of the base multiplied by the height of the prism.
Assignments: Review homework #19 is due on Wednesday.
Science: Today in science students were introduced to our next project, the Alternative Energy Writing Project. Students selected an alternative energy source that they want to learn more about and today in class they spent time in the library researching their chosen energy source. Students were completing a worksheet where they were looking for three benefits and three drawbacks of Nuclear energy and their chosen energy source. We will spend tomorrow in the library as well completing this assignment.
